Since I moved abroad for work, I dreaded phone calls from home especially if I was going to receive sad news about a passing family member or close relative. This short comic is a tribute to my uncle, Angah, who passed away late 2018. Interestingly, it also juxtaposes with my bittersweet culinary memories with him when I was 8 years old. As a Malaysian, it was never coincidental that our relationship, narratives and worldview are influenced or shaped by our passion and love for our local food.
